Cashculator
The Mac way to
track your cash flow

quoteMaintaining financial transactions for the household is a complex business. Cashculator was able to simplify these processes and make them understandable! Screens and inputs were so simple that I was able to transfer my spreadsheet inputs into Cashculator and final budget and forecast within two hours.quote

quoteWow - finally a nice application for creating a budget! The interface is simple, clean and seems intuitive. The startup tutorial was an excellent introduction to how the program works and only took a few minutes to review.quote

quoteFirstly I just want to say what an excellent program Cashculator is. I trialled it for a few days and knew it was exactly what I wanted! My wife has been off work after the birth of our first baby and we couldn't have managed our finances with the loss of 1 income as easily as Cashculator allows you to do it! It's been fantastic.quote

quoteJust installed this yesterday and finished fully populating today. Love the simplicity. Cheers in advance for a great product.quote

quoteI like very much the application and where it's headed. I think it's on the right track. They have the right approach for forecasting in that you budget into the future, and you use actuals in the past.

I know I've wanted a budgeting/forecasting program, and I've been reluctant to go all-out and build my own. I've looked at iBank and Liquid Ledger and Money and iFinance and MoneyDance and Cha-ching and MoneyWell, and while they're all good at recording transactions, none of them were really good at budgeting and forecasting.quote

quoteFirst of all -- THANK YOU. Your Cashculator application is on the right track -- there IS no other application out there for the Mac that allows you to budget income and expense items without requiring lots of transactional data to be inputted. In my mind, that is the biggest flaw with every other application out there -- I don't want to import my data automatically, I don't want to post my data on some website -- all I want to do is track my budget income and expense on my own, on a monthly basis and without the need to record every transaction I incur -- and Cashculator certainly hits the mark for this task.

Second -- your goal of interface simplicity has been accomplished -- nice work! Again, compared to most other applications out there -- your interface is a breath of fresh air to the user who's looking for a simple approach.

Lastly -- in my mind -- your price point is once again on the mark. Thirty bucks is nothing for an application that seems to have NO competition out there when you compare the overall target audience and the intent behind the tool against others.quote

quoteThis is an example of an app that I simply never thought about, but the premise seems very useful. Thanks for creative Mac developers!quote

quoteThe help screens/tutorials are some of the best I've ever seen and the program looks like a very useful tool for planning and monitoring. I really like that the program has a function to duplicate the data (or create a new budget), so I can test alternative scenarios.

As has been said, it does not replace existing Banking programs (I use iBank), but it really enhances my financial control capability. Now only if didn't keep spending money on software, I would more easily balance my budget. Oh well, for this one, count me in.quote

quoteSaved messing around with ugly spreadsheets: Yep!
Saved making something that isn't nearly as good as this: Yep!
Saved myself hours of making a spreadsheet for an hour or two's wage: Yep!
Going to use this in conjunction with my all-time favorite app Squirrelquote

quoteLooks like a really interesting new app. Had a couple e-mail exchanges with the developers and they were very responsive. Recommend you take a look and see if the concept is a good fit for your financial situation.quote

quoteI used Excel for my financial planning and forecasting. Cashculator is the smarter way to this things. I really like the possibility to compare alternative scenarios.quote

quoteI played with the demo and it does seem quite easy to use. I like the focus on the future rather than past transactions.quote

quoteI'm using Splasm Software's CheckBook Pro. I don't think this one will replace CBP, but I will rather use it in addition to CBP. I love graphs. ;-)quote

quoteI was looking for a simple financial software that will run on Mac OS X. By "simple" I mean two things: Firstly, I'm not running a business, so something for domestic use will do (i.e., I do not require the software to interact with my banking accounts). Secondly, I don't like to be forced to track every cent I'm spending since that seems to be just too much effort.

Did a bit of research on financial software for the Mac, too ... and Cashculator seems to come in handy. I recommend to compare this programme to some of its competitors such as Quicken, StarMoney, Moneywell, iCompta, Pecunia (German only) and Cha-Ching and then decide if it's for you.

Well - I gave the trial version a go and happened to like the fact that someone else had already paid attention to many details. For the time being, it seems my money will be well spent, so I'm off now buying a license.quote

quoteI never thought I can be excited about personal finance application, but I do now. I considered all the concept of personal finance applications boring, and used spreadsheets for home finance management until now because all applications I tried were very complex and daunting.

Cashculator surprised me by being very simple and intuitive, and the interactive tutorials walk you by the hand and teach you the various aspects of the application. It took me less than half an hour to learn the application and to transfer all my my spreadsheet information into it.

The developers seem very responsive to user's requests, so it seems they will keep developing this application and add additional cool features :-)quote

quoteJust what I was looking for. I've tried probably around 8 or 9 personal finances programs for Mac, and just when I was about to try to write something myself I found Cashculator.quote

quoteWow - finally a nice application for creating a budget! The interface is simple, clean and seems intuitive. The startup tutorial was an excellent introduction to how the program works and only took a few minutes to review. I've always had difficulties creating budgets mostly due to the way most financial programs track or show the show the budgets. The ability to customize icons is a huge help to a visual person such as myself. Considering this is only a 1.x version, it looks like Cashculator has a very promising future ahead.quote
